Atlantic City has a rich history as top family destination for many generations…and it never lost those roots. Today, as year-round destination resort, there’s something for everyone, including families.
To highlight the many attractions, events, entertainment options, dining and other activities that families regularly enjoy in the Atlantic City area, the
Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA) has introduced a Family Fun page on its Web site at
http://www.atlanticcitynj.com/visitors/atlantic-city-family-activities.aspx. “Atlantic City never really lost its appeal for families,” said
Jeff Vasser, president of the ACCVA. “In fact, family-oriented activities have grown in many respects. Look at how
Gardner’s Basin and the
Atlantic City Aquarium have evolved to provide more activities each year, and the growing popularity of attractions like
Steel Pier and
Lucy the Elephant. Everyone can enjoy the beach and water sports, too.”
Vasser also points out that many of the popular shows and events that take place in
Boardwalk Hall and the casinos are also suitable for families, as well as newer additions to the Atlantic City summer entertainment scene like outdoor movies and concerts on the Boardwalk. “Just like any destination, parents should do a little research and design an itinerary that’s suitable for their ages and lifestyle,” Vasser added. “Atlantic City really has something for everyone.”
