Experience One of the Most Scenic Golf Courses in the Country
According to the Farmer's Almanac, snow puts nitrogen back into soil (from 2-12 lbs per acre by various sources), and as we know nitrogen is the key component to fertilizer, supporting all plant growth processes. So the silver lining to the several feet of snow that Telluride received this spring is that the golf course opened in late May with great conditions.
"The additional snow this spring has kept the course well hydrated and protected it from the spring winds," according to Telluride Golf Course superintendent,
Kevin Cahalane. "The fairways and greens are in excellent shape and ready for play." The
Pro Shop offers lessons from PGA certified professionals, custom club fitting and the latest in equipment and apparel, all available to the public.
"We have a full complement of PGA instructors this season offering lesson packages to players of all abilities and ages," said Sean Tannehill, general manager of
Telluride Ski and Golf Club. "We want everyone to dust off the clubs and come on up to take advantage of the early season opportunities to play and get a few pointers."
