NCBMP AND EIC PARTNER TO CURATE EXCLUSIVE CMP EDUCATION FOR 2025 CONFERENCE IN PORTLAND

The National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP) is proud to announce a strategic collaboration with the Events Industry Council (EIC) to enhance the educational programming with exclusive CMP content and experiences for its 2025 Annual Conference November 19-22 in Portland, Oregon. This collaboration will deliver updates and insights related to the updated CMP International Standards, as well as cutting-edge insights, best practices, and thought leadership tailored to the evolving needs of business event professionals and the broader events industry.

NCBMP, a leading organization dedicated to empowering Black professionals and those that celebrate humanity in the meetings and hospitality space, will work closely with EIC to curate a dynamic educational lineup that aligns with the conference's three core pillars: Empower, Innovate, and Act. With these guiding themes, the 2025 conference will equip attendees with the knowledge and strategies needed to drive meaningful change and excellence in the events industry.

NCBMP is a member of EIC's global federation of more than 60 associations and corporations representing the global business events industry.

As part of this partnership, EIC will help develop exclusive education and experiences designed specifically for Certified Meeting Professionals (CMPs), ensuring they receive relevant content that enhances their expertise and supports their continued professional growth. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and workshops, CMPs and all attendees will gain actionable insights to implement in their careers and organizations. The content will be tied to the updated CMP International Standards, which were released in February 2025, and the EIC Futures Landscape Report, released in March 2025 and addressing the issues likely to shape the global business events industry in the years to come.

Jason Dunn Sr.

"Our partnership with EIC marks a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering education and professional development for meeting professionals," said NCBMP CEO Jason Dunn, Sr. "By collaborating with an organization that sets industry-wide standards and benchmarks, we're ensuring that our members and conference attendees receive world-class education that is both relevant and impactful."

EIC, known for its leadership in advancing global standards, research and advocacy in the meetings, conventions, and events industry, will help develop content covering a variety of topic areas, including sustainable event management and workforce development. Attendees can look forward to CMP-focused sessions, leadership development programs, and forward-thinking discussions designed to align with the Empower, Innovate, and Act pillars, providing them with the tools to create more inclusive and impactful events.
