BROOKLYN PARK WELCOMES LESLIE WRIGHT AS NEW CEO/PRESIDENT OF MINNEAPOLIS NORTHWEST TOURISM BOARD

The City of Brooklyn Park recently welcomed the hiring of Leslie Wright as the new CEO/President of the Minneapolis Northwest Tourism Board (MNW). As MNW members, the cities of Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center work to promote unique venues, diverse shopping and dining options, outdoor recreation, and family attractions.

A comprehensive search led by SearchWide Global identified Ms. Wright as the strongest candidate for this pivotal role.

Ms. Wright brings a wealth of leadership experience and community advocacy to her new position, boasting more than 20 years in various prominent roles. An alumna of Howard University, Ms. Wright graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Her most recent role was as Vice President, Development & Alumni Relations at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Previously, she served as the Director of External and Community Engagement at Greater Twin Cities United Way, where she played a key role in fostering community relationships and promoting culturally powered initiatives.

Ms. Wright's expansive career in the hospitality industry includes 25 years at Marriott International as well as Senior Vice President, Sales, and Service for Meet Minneapolis, the official Convention and Visitors Bureau for the City of Minneapolis. Her extensive experience is further complemented by her active involvement on the Boards of Directors for YWCA of the North, the MACC Alliance, Keystone Community Services, World Savvy, and The Minnesota Chill Foundation. Additionally, she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

"I am looking forward to partnering with the Board, staff, and people across Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park to lift up and advance the work of the Minneapolis Northwest Tourism Board," said Ms. Wright.

Brooklyn Center Mayor April Graves and Board Chair and Search Committee Chair Michelle Basham expressed their enthusiasm for Ms. Wright's appointment and their optimism for the future of the MNW. "It became evident early in the process that Ms. Wright was the perfect choice to lead our organization," said Mayor Graves.
