Shavonne Harding who joined the Convention Sales department's East Coast team as a National Sales Manager overseeing sales, marketing, and event management, based out of Washington, D.C.
She is joining Choose Chicago from Visit Baltimore, where she was Regional Director of Sales for the last four years. While at Visit Baltimore, Shavonne's efforts generated a total economic impact of $35 million and $20 million in 2019 and 2020, respectively, for the city. Before joining Visit Baltimore, Harding served as a Sales Marketing Manager with The Freeman Company, Corporate Events Manager with Amazon Web Services, and Sales Manager at Mid-Atlantic/East with Destination DC, where she started her destination marketing career in 2014, and within one year was promoted to Conference Sales Manager.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Harding attended Hampton University in Virginia, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and then obtained a Master's Degree with a concentration in Tourism Administration/Event and Meeting Management from George Washington University.
She is an active member of industry organizations including the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and the International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE), where she was part of the team that launched CVB Reps of the West (CReW) and served as the inaugural Activities Committee Chair.
Shavonne Harding is a proud Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) alumna. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, step aerobics, board games and dining at new restaurants.
