Organization's Regional Vice President of Sales, Mid-Atlantic, is Recipient of 2020 Charles H. Wright Supplier of the Year Award
NYC & Comp any, the official destination marketing organization and convention and visitors bureau for the five boroughs of New York City, today recognized Regional Vice President of Sales, Mid-Atlantic
Trudy Singh, CMP, for being named the
2020 Charles H. Wright Supplier of the Year by the
National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP). During The Evening of Empowerment virtual event on Friday, November 20, Singh was honored by NCBMP's Board of Directors and her fellow members as a supplier who consistently demonstrates the qualities of integrity, professionalism, and dedication in her services to the profession.
"Trudy is a gem to the industry and has been an inspiration to many of our members. She embodies the essence of our organization and is one of our greatest ambassadors. We congratulate Trudy and are proud to call her a friend of NCBMP," said Jason Dunn, who a the time was Chairman, National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals.
"I am humbled and honored by this recognition. NCBMP has been the seminal leader in championing the efforts of diverse professionals in our industry and continues to be instrumental in my career. In fact, it was at the NCBMP conference in Washington, D.C. over 20 years ago that I met the hiring manager for NYC & Company. Through my involvement with NCBMP, I have not only been able to work with wonderful clients but also to grow in my role as a leader in the tourism and hospitality community," said Trudy Singh, NYC & Company's Regional Vice President of Sales, Mid-Atlantic.
A destination expert with more than 25 years of industry experience, Singh joined NYC & Company in May 2000 as Director of National Accounts, based in Washington, D.C. Since then, she has served as Regional Director of Sales and Director of Sales, before being promoted to her current role in 2018. She assists event planners of all sizes and budgets, year-round, in the Mid-Atlantic region including Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Her responsibilities also include the management of NYC & Company's satellite office operations.

Founded in 1983, NCBMP is a non-profit organization dedicated primarily to the training needs of Black meeting professionals and those that support Black meetings/conventions. The organization is committed to positioning Black meetings, conferences, exhibitions, conventions, and its members to maximize opportunities. Singh has been a member of NCBMP since 1998 and currently sits on the organization's Nominating Committee.
Singh currently sits on the Boards of both the Association of Meeting Professionals (AMPs) and Convention Sales Professionals International (CSPI); previously served as Chair for the Network of Latino Meeting Professionals (the NETWORK); and is a former advisor for the Northern Virginia Community College Travel and Tourism Program. She is a former Board Member and active participant in the National Capital Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) and is part of several other industry associations including Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Meeting Planners International (MPI) and Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA).
A transplanted New Yorker and graduate of Drexel University, she resides in Woodbridge, Virginia with her multigenerational family.
