The Anguilla Tourist Board’s North America office with industry partners Cap Juluca CuisinArt, Malliouhana, Viceroy, The Charming Escapes Collection and Villas of Anguilla, hosted a trade reception in June, at The Pierre Hotel in Manhattan and over 150 travel agents representing a cross section of some of Anguilla’s largest producing travel agencies were in attendance.

The event was staged by the Anguilla Tourist Board’s North America office and the promotion began with an informal trade show where Anguilla’s stake holders had the opportunity to interact on a one-on-one basis with the travel agents. Participants included Cap Juluca's Charles Black and Gary Thulander; CuisinArt's David Lyon and Rebecca Sajous; Malliouhana's Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch and Suzanne Snart; Sunset Homes’ Ian Edwards; Viceroy's Virgil Napier and Brent Hall; and Merlyn Rogers speaking for the Charming Escapes Collection and Villas of Anguilla.
The activity then transitioned to a formal presentation. Peter Greenberg, who is considered one of America’s most recognized, honored and respected front-line travel news journalists, as well as being travel editor for CBS News, served as master of ceremonies and Klara Glowczewska, editor in chief of Condé Nast Traveler delivered the key-note address. Presentations were also made by the Honorable Hayden Hughes discussing access to the island, Merlyn Rogers speaking on the destination, and the participating hoteliers speaking on their respective products while Anguilla’s North America director, Mrs. Marie Walker, directed the question and answer session. |
